I've had them. Some places to look:Often the printer has a utility for such. If it's a nice printer, like a copier, it often has the ability to monitor a folder, but on a lower end printer it still may have the ability to have a script triggered by dropping the file onto a something.On the note, often you can create a shortcut to your printer (maybe just dragging it out of Control Panel : Printers while holding down Ctrl[?]), and anything you drop onto that shortcut will be printed. In fact, on the Mac it's built into the OS. Many PDF writers have this feature. I don't know why more PDF writers than printers have it, but if you were to have a folder that auto-PDF'ed things, that may fit your workflow.Not to dodge your question, but you could always right click and hit print on files just as quickly as copying them into a folder. After waiting over 5 years for the successor to Microsoft’s Windows XP, I discovered to my disgust in mid-2007 that it was to be ‘Windows Vista’, a horrible, bloated mess with more “issues” than most people could count. I’d had enough. I wasn’t going to wait another 3 years for Microsoft to fix something they wouldn’t even admit needed fixing.I was at the end of my brand loyalty tether.Having owned a couple of iPods and then an AppleTV, which were “barely viable” on Windows thanks to Apple’s treatment of iTunes-for-Windows as a poor cousin to its Mac-native sibling, I jumped ship to a Macbook Pro laptop, taking a gamble on this fluffy bubble-gummy Macintosh OS X.At the time I was self-employed providing tech-support and infrastructure development services to a small stable of small businesses in my city, focussed on Microsoft Windows technologies - desktops & servers of many types.This was no small deed for me. I knew I could run Windows on this Mac laptop if I wanted/needed to, which I did, but it was also symbolic, at least to me, that I was ditching the Dark Side Of The Force (the incumbents) to become a Jedi (those annoying sanctimonious condescending police of the galaxy). I knew there was a large army of Windows-centric people - my peers - out there who HATED Apple (for reasons that were mostly either obsolete or irrelevant to non-geeks).And despite being a geek, who’re supposed to enjoy devoting endless hours to tinkering and “fixing” their shit, I’d had enough of that malarkey too! Mostly was enough, because it was night-and-day better then where everyone in the industry was.That was then. 10 years ago there were numerous tangible reasons why Apple’s products and Mac OS were superior when viewed as a multi-device cohesive whole. Yes, I felt more than a little smug, compared to my still-Microsoft-adoring peers who stuck with Windows through another 6 years of embarrassment.But this is now. Everyone who matters has caught up - Android, Microsoft, even Linux, kinda.
