What is a computer "trick" that in the past was cool, but today is unimpressive and trivial?

Computers made 10 yrs ago were much more reliable than the crap we have today, because nowadays technology is made to fail in a certain period of time so you will be forced to replace it, and likely you will get another one new from the same manufacturer what you had before, and if you continue to buy new the cycle will never end. make yourself a question. why computers like my hp d330 or my dell d610 from 2003 are still working like new after so many years of daily use (even if its not worn at all, i bought it on ebay 2 yrs ago) and why modern computers from 2013 14 15 are already failing and believe me, there are a lot failing , i was in stage at a it repair shop and the stuff that came was almost always modern and not worn at all and often the motherboards were shot, but all the “old” ones had just problems because of lacking of maintenance like heat sink cleaning and thermal paste replace, system defrag, registry and temporary files cleaning, that's it, those consumer business machines built from the beginning to around 2010 were built like tanks, of course back then there there were low quality laptops which had the quality of modern business laptops. the most modern laptops to be reliable are the lenovo thinkpads x220/x220t t420 t520 and other models which t were manufacturing in 2011 the same applies for desktops

Type on PDF: All You Need to Know

It is one of those things that is too late to fix, too late to change. However, there are a few options still available to make DOS run faster — including a change in the registry. But don't just take my word for it — take a good look! I recently came across an article by Tom Manatee at which claims that the “DOS 7.21 Registry (and the other MS-DOS Registry files) contain many 'zany” settings that can dramatically speed up command.com.” Now, I have no issues with Tom's methods. However, in my opinion, it is extremely unrealistic to expect that a simple change to a registry file would significantly change the way that command.com runs. So, let's look at some real world tests. Test 1: I downloaded and installed command.com, a command window to execute commands. Then I ran the command.com window while minimizing it. To my surprise, it.
